Subsurface materials obtained from sample borings are visually described in the field, sealed in plastic bags, and then delivered to our laboratories for further examination and to perform laboratory testing. Our geotechnical laboratory is equipped with testing devices that are calibrated as per guidelines and as needed. Tests are assigned by geotechnical engineers and are performed by qualified laboratory personnel to determine physical and engineering properties of subsurface materials. Based on the results of lab tests and further visual examination of the samples, subsurface materials then are classified in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System. The results of the analysis will be used to prepare geotechnical report with design recommendations. |
